MAVEN Project: Pediatric Endocrinology, Evaluating Short Stature

May 23, 2018: MAVEN Project Educational Session, Pediatric Endocrinology, Evaluating Short Stature

The MAVEN Project is very excited to announce our upcoming Educational Sessions! As always, these sessions are presented via Zoom videoconferencing, and consist of 20-30 minutes of a presentation and 15 – 20 minutes of Q&A. Our volunteers are eager to discuss your patients, so please don’t hesitate to come with questions or cases you’d like to discuss.

Speaker: Dr. Debra Cohen

Specialty: Pediatric Endocrinology

Presentation Title: Evaluating Short Stature

Bio: Dr. Cohen is board-certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology. She practiced for 30 years with Kaiser’s Permanente Medical Group in Northern California, where she helped expand the local endocrinology and diabetes team and took care of patients at the tertiary care center in her area, which is linked to Stanford University’s medical school. Since retirement from the Permanente Medical Group in 2012, she has continued volunteer work she started previously. She has volunteered internationally with Relief International, Resurge International, Plasticos, Women for World Health, Partners in Health, International Medical Corps, Health in Harmony, University of Miami, International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes, and Life for a Child (Australia-based NGO for diabetes care in in developing countries). In addition, she began work with The MAVEN Project in 2015 and continues to greatly enjoy working directly with patients and providers in FQHCs. She is a firm believer that everyone deserves access to high quality health care, and The MAVEN Project helps provide that expertise.
