May 30, 2018: MAVEN Project Educational Session, Genetics: Down Syndrome
The MAVEN Project is very excited to announce our upcoming Educational Sessions! As always, these sessions are presented via Zoom videoconferencing, and consist of 20-30 minutes of a presentation and 15 – 20 minutes of Q&A. Our volunteers are eager to discuss your patients, so please don’t hesitate to come with questions or cases you’d like to discuss.
Speaker: Dr. Ron Bachman

Presentation Title: Down Syndrome
Bio: Dr. Bachman practiced clinical genetics for over 38 years at Kaiser Permanente. On 12/31/2006 he retired both as Chief of the Genetics Department and as an active member of the Permente Medical Group. In retirement he has remained active in the teaching program for Residents and Genetic Counselors at Kaiser Permanente. In addition, he is currently Co-Medical Director of the Genetic Counseling Program. During his almost four decades as Department Chief, he assisted in the planning and coordination of comprehensive genetic services for the 3.2 million Kaiser Permanente members in Northern California. The program specializes in providing patient care in genetics for all ages from the embryo to the adult. Dr. Bachman is Board Certified in Pediatrics (1968) and Genetics (1982).
